Police Media Spokesperson SP Ajith Rohana said traders had closed their stores to protest the killing of a youth opposite the Pradeshiya Sabha premises yesterday.
SP Ajith Rohana said several black flags had also been raised in the town.
A youth was murdered opposite the Passara Pradeshiya Sabha premises last night.
The victim was a 20-year-old area resident.
The suspects are yet to be identified.
