The Colombo High Court acquitted former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka of all charges in the Hi-corp Case.
The order was given when the case was taken up before High Court Judge Sunil Rajapaksa today.
The judge observed that based on the penal code and international law the case could no longer be heard, as two case cannot be filed against the same person on the same charge.
He observed that the Court Martial conducted against the former Army Commander and the case filed in the High Court on the Hi-corp issue are one and the same.
The order further states that the preliminary objections raised by the defence were confirmed.
