Death of mother and child in Wattala

A mother and a small child who had arrived in the country from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been reported dead.

Police Media Spokes person SP Ajith Rohana stated that they were reported dead early this morning after being admitted to a private hospital in the Wattala area last night.

It is learnt that the mother is twenty two years of age, while the child is aged one and a half years..

SP Ajith Rohana further stated that the husband of the victim has also been admitted to hospital.
