Health Minister on the cause of death of infants at Mahamodara Hospital

Information has come to light that three of the thirteen infants who died at the Premature Infant Care Unit of the Mahamodara Hospital had died from a bacterial infection.

At the Health Ministry‘s monthly media briefing held this morning, Minister Maithripala Sirisena noted that the other ten infants who had been born premature had died from various complications.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that the Ministry of Health has decided to introduce a price list for medicine.

The Minister of Health said that discussions in this regard will be held over the next two weeks.
