Human Rights Commissioner Dr.Prathibha Mahanamahewa says that the Ministry of External Affairs should appoint a committee to inform the international community with regard to the measures that are being taken to promote human rights in Sri Lanka.He went onto say that the steps taken at present are insufficient.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs noted that Minister Professor G.L Pieris will
leave for the United States today.
