The North Central Civil Appeals Court issued an enjoining order preventing seven people including the Chief Minister and the Governor of the province from dissolving the North Central Provincial Council before its due date.
All the respondents in the petition including the Chief Minister of the North Central Province and the
Governor have been ordered to appear before Court on the 16th of this month.
This order was issued after considering a petition that was filed by Attorney-at-Law Karunarartne
Herath on behalf of North Central Provincial Council UNP MP Anil Ratnayake.
