More than 300 persons have been displaced due to strong winds that blew across several Grama Sevaareas in Batticaloa.
Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre, Sarath Lal Kumara said the displaced have been provided lodging at a school nearby.
Meanwhile, three persons have been killed in lightning accidents in Dimbulagala and Kanthale.
The Disaster Management Center said the tragedy occured while they engaged in
cultivation activities in open areas.
