Legal action against 1000 for violating traffic rules on Southern Highway

The Traffic Unit of the Southern Highway says that it has taken legal action against one thousand and
eighty two (1082) drivers who violated traffic rules since its opening to the public.

The unit further said that many drivers have also been fined during this period.

The drivers have been fined for offences such as speeding and failure  to drive on the left lane.

The Traffic Unit of the Expressway noted that eighty eight motor accidents have been reported till yesterday.

The Expressway was ceremoniously opened for public use on November 27 last year.
