Green light for investigations on railway signals


The Railways Department has commenced investigations on the allegations made by the
train drivers that the railway signal system is defective.
General Manager of Railways B.A.B.Ariyaratne has stated that the train drivers have complained that some railway signals on the Colombo to Rambukkana railway line are not functioning properly.

He pointed out that investigations have been commenced based on these allegations.

He stated that the railway signals in the Polgahawella area had not worked recently due to a power failure in the area. He further stated that the current railway signals are fifty years old.
